The Longevity of Positivity

The Longevity of Positivity

Author: Peter Sinclair

By simply changing our perspective we can gain a whole new slant on the world in which we live and on the future that lies before each and every one of us.

The world is as you see it. Just like the person who looks at a glass of water that they declare is half full or half empty. It just depends on which way you perceive it and how you respond with your mind and your mouth.

I personally believe in the longevity of positivity. Why? Because I have made it my life’s purpose to study mankind and in fine-tuning my study I have also become a student of success.

Through all the suffering that mankind has been subjected to, throughout the thousands of years that man has inhabited the earth, the light of positivity has continued to always shine through.

It is a fact: that which is positive ultimately outlives and outlasts that which is negative. Good conquers evil. Love destroys hate. Peace reigns supreme over war. Positivity nullifies the power of negativity.

Oh there will still be those who will seek to destroy. But we must not be moved by this. We must stand firm and strong on the foundations of our positive belief.

History confirms that there is a law of sowing and reaping in place. This law cannot be broken. Those who seek to sow destruction will be destroyed. However, those who sow positivity will ultimately reap a positive life that will have a positive impact on the entire world.

When you consider the 2nd World War, when the free world faced one of its most harrowing hours, there was one man who stood out amongst them all. His name? Sir Winston Churchill.

For all his fine qualities, he was not a faultless man. He had, throughout his career, made some terrible errors of judgment. And the empire that he represented had committed some horrific blunders when dealing with the vastness of the empire that they had created.

But that aside, when the darkness of despotic government sought to snare Europe and all its surrounds, there was one man who stood firm as he gave resounding speeches that stirred the hearts of the oppressed multitudes. He made it very clear that he would never give up until freedom was won for all.

Where there was darkness he saw light. Where there was negativity he could only visualize positivity. Where there was fear there was demonstrated faith. Where there was doubt there was supplied hope.

It was that spirit of determination that gripped the hearts of men and women, both in his own homeland and amongst the allies, that eventually, after many years of struggle, brought about the crushing defeat of the enemy.

We too can make the longevity of positivity a reality in our lives by simply determining in our hearts that it will be so.

Here are five keys to help you:

1. BE POSITIVE

“To be positive is not to ignore the presence of negativity in our world, but rather to believe in the power of the positive and in the knowledge that that positive power has the greatest and long lasting energy to override any negative power in the final hour.” – Peter Sinclair

It’s a fact. There is an abundance of negativity that fills our world. Turn on the television, read the newspaper or simply listen to some of the conversations in your local supermarket and you will find little positive being discussed.

But the great news is that you and I do not have to partake of the morsels of negativity that are passed our way. There is another menu available and if you eat of that, you will develop into a far more healthier and wealthier individual.

Feed on positive materials. Surround yourself with positive friends. Submit your ears to the wisdom of positive mentors, and allow only positive statements to flow from your mouth.

By all means deal with the negative, but always keep your major focus on the positive. Do it all your life and you will live well and you will live long.

2. BE POSITIVE ABOUT WHO YOU ARE

“What I must do, is all that concerns me, not what the people think. It is easy in the world to live after the world’s opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps in perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Never allow another to rain on your parade. Be confident in who you are. Know this, that there is only one you and that you have been created for a purpose. What other people think is totally irrelevant.

You must always be true to yourself and to your conscience, for it is you that you must live with for the rest of your days.

Be grateful for your peculiar gifts that make you different to everyone else around you. You are ‘a unique’ and that means simply one thing: you are extremely special.

3. BE POSITIVE ABOUT WHAT YOU DO

“Let every man be occupied, and occupied in the highest employment of which his nature is capable, and die with the consciousness that he has done his best.”
- Sydney Smith

There are no small tasks. There are only those who do tasks with small minds and because of that have created small tasks.

Approach every task you undertake with a BIG attitude and that is the attitude that you should always carry with you as you continue to discover the gift that lies within you.
Not all of us can arrive at our point of self-discovery immediately, but we can make the journey a worthy training ground by performing every task that we undertake with the spirit of excellence.

The development of that habit will definitely prepare you for your greatest hour when it does finally arrive.

4. BE POSITIVE ABOUT WHERE YOU’RE GOING

“Who shoots at the midday sun, though he be sure he shall never hit the mark, yet as sure he is he shall shoot higher than who aims but at a bush.” – Sir Philip Sidney

Live your life with purpose. Have a goal. Write it down. At least if you have a target in place you will be more likely to hit the bulls-eye. Develop the ability to dream on a regular basis. Make it a pattern of your personal path. Dream BIG, live BIG, believe BIG.

The BIGGER you dream, the BIGGER you will become. Those who choose to expand their mind with a dream will ultimately expand their lives.

First the dream, then the goal, then the plan plus applied action and finally the reality.

5. BE POSITIVE ABOUT HOW YOU’RE GOING TO GET THERE

“Every citizen of our state ought to apply himself to that one thing to which his genius most inclines him.” – Plato

When you have discovered the what, it is then time to plan the how.

  • How do you do that?
  • Start asking yourself some questions:
  • What do I want to do?
  • How can I do it?
  • Who can help me get it done?
  • What do I need to help me get it done?
  • Where can I do it best?
  • How much will it cost to do it?
  • Where will I get the money?
  • How long before I can earn it back?

Set goals. Put in place the tasks that you must perform to achieve those goals. Put a date on it. Spend time talking to a mentor about your plan.

And while you’re at it shout, “Long live positivity!”

Motivational Memo: I’m positive that those who live positively will far outlive and outlast those who live negatively.

A Better Tomorrow

A Better Tomorrow

By Thomas Finn

As long as I could remember I was always interested in self development and practical psychology. Like countless others I was looking for ways to improve my station in life and have a happier and more fulfilled existence.

I have studied and analyzed the working of the subconscious mind and how it can transform our lives. This book is a layman’s account of his interest in these matters and the results of his research and efforts to improve his state in life. If the knowledge that I have gained and tested can benefit others, then this book will have fulfilled its purpose.

After reading the book, one should have a better understanding of the laws of nature regarding the subconscious mind and how it can be programmed to bring us the success we desire. It will be easier to see that, unlike the popular belief that luck is the key, we can be the architects of our own success and masters of our own destiny.

A Better Tomorrow

Armed with a working knowledge of our inner mind and a determination for improvement, we should have no failures if we believe we are realizing our full potential. Whether the harnessing of the subconscious mind for our benefit is a new concept, or whether we were always aware of its potential but it never appeared to work for us, we owe it to ourselves to master the basic steps and principles outlined in this book. Do you think the end justifies the means?

Some years ago, I tried the system haphazardly on a few occasions, and knew I was at the crossroads. I decided to give it one last genuine effort to make it work. If that effort failed, then I would just forget about the whole process and, instead, concentrate elsewhere.

Thankfully, after a ponderous start, things began to fall into place for me. Looking back on it now, I am so glad and relieved that I decided to give affirmations and visualizations one last chance. I am glad because it has completely transformed my life and continues to do so.

I am also relieved because I was so close to giving up on something so amazing and beneficial. I have nothing to gain from persuading people to take the affirmation and visualization processes seriously, but I feel obliged to urge them to do so in order to enrich their lives as I have done.

The Truth About Success

The Truth About Success

Author: Herbert Harris

Success is generally defined as a favorable or satisfactory outcome or result. Whatever you do in your life, you get results. Whether or not those results are the ones you desired, is basically whether you succeeded or failed in your endeavors. Success is often defined as the gaining of wealth, fame, rank and so on. However, in the most general terms, success is the the continuous realization of the outcomes or results you desire.

On the physical level, success is often seen as specific material accomplishments—a particular type of car, home, status, or income level. However, once the car, home or other material possessions are obtained, there is no further growth in understanding, wisdom, or consciousness. Those who operate on this material level of success generally become consumed with maintaining those possessions that represent their success.

When success is understood on a spiritual level, it is seen as a progressive realization of a worthwhile purpose. You continue to grow and develop in all aspects. On a spiritual level, success is the continuous unfolding of your purpose and destiny.

True success is the progressive, continuous effort of attaining your goals and realizing your vision. This guides you to your worthwhile purpose in life.

Success Must Be In Your Mind First

Success starts in your own mind. Constantly have a concept and vision in your mind of what success means to you.

“You become what you think about most of the time.”

Earl Nightingale

Be Constant In Your Efforts

Never take a break from your success journey. Do not stop for rest and reward too soon. When you stop at the first sign of success, you become stagnant, lazy, and begin to decline. As your efforts begin to produce rewards and results, work even harder. Success and achievement come only through continuous work. The only place that success comes before work is in the dictionary.

Get Away From The Crowd At The Bottom

One of the most difficult steps you will face on your success journey is getting away from the crowd at the bottom. There are many unsuccessful, mediocre people who have failed to recognize, or act on their true potential. If you constantly associate with them, your success journey will be short-lived. You must clear the deck to make room for new associations which will complement and enhance your success efforts.

Once you break away from the mediocre crowd, accept the temporary state of loneliness and prepare for your success.

Be Willing To Change Your Life Completely

You must be willing to change your life completely. Make your life congruent with, consistent with, and harmonic with your desired success. Is there anything about the way you think or feel about yourself that will frustrate your success efforts? If so, handle it immediately. Do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, to become the person that you must be, to accomplish your goals and realize your vision.

Affirmations from the Secret

8 Ways to Live a Powerful and Joyous Life

by – Tess Marshall

1. Honor and love yourself.

It’s impossible to love anyone more than you love yourself. It’s easy to love yourself when you feel good, look great and everyone cooperates. The real test comes with accepting your flaws, working with your shadow side and loving your humanness. I’ve learned to have compassion for the part of me that is greedy, inconsiderate and judgmental. Self-love allows me to heal these parts and move forward into a brighter light and deeper love for myself and others.

2. Become your own priority.

Pamper your body, mind and spirit. Take baby steps and begin to eat right and be impeccably groomed. Take scheduled breaks through out your day. Feed your mind with spiritual and inspirational information. You add beautiful, loving energy to our world as you learn to respect yourself.

I’ve recently decided to improve my exercise habits. Evita from Evolving Wellness has convinced me to eat healthier. I eliminated red meant from my diet 30 years ago. I’m now only eating fish, chicken and turkey (anything with a face) on weekends.

3. Stop comparing, competing, and criticizing.

As you eliminate draining little habits from your daily life your energy can flow freely into your dreams and happiness. Your role in life is like a puzzle piece that fits into the jigsaw puzzle of the universe, the world is incomplete without your unique self.

When I find myself stuck in the three “C’s” I know I’m off track. It only takes minutes to own my projections and move forward. I choose to live in the flow of life trusting myself with an open mind and heart.

4. Anchor your being in appreciation.

It’s a privilege to be alive at this time. I am grateful for the difficult lessons I’m learning from our economy, the oil spill, and the war. As I make inner changes, I see my exterior world change. In stead of focusing on the media and negativity I focus on the difference I can make.

Answers to our problems lie in each of us. Each morning I decide to “wake up and smell the day.” Life is precious, I won’t waste it wishing things were different. I choose to live more consciously. The individual changes we make will change the world.

5. Activate forgiveness.

Perfection in life is not required. We all do and say things we regret. I choose to learn from my mistakes. I encourage you to be gentle with yourself and others. Resentment and bitterness poison our mind, body and spirit. Forgiving others will take you out of the dark and into the light, that’s available always.

6. Record loving moments.

Keep a journal of the happiness, love and goodness you experience everyday.  Focusing on love and good times increases love and good times. A journal of “good stuff” can be used as a great pick-me-up in difficult times. You’ll find there are infinite experiences to record. Be a part of seeing the best in every thing and every one. I’ve kept gratitude journals for eight years. I’m flooded with appreciation for my ordinary existence each time I reread one.

7. Set your intention.

Each morning set your intention for your day. “I intend to be patient today. I intend to be kind. I intend to live in the moment.” You choose your attitude, energy and direction. Consciously create the incredible and amazing life you desperately want. Resolve to choose the best for yourself. You’ll learn to brighten your own day!

8.  Serve others.

There is a story about heaven and hell…In one room a pot of delicious stew sits in the middle of a big round table. The people at the table are holding unusually long handled spoons which made reaching their mouths impossible. They are thin, sick and weak. This room represents hell.

The next room also has a large table and a delicious pot of stew as well… The people around this table also hold long-handled spoons. However these people are plump, healthy and happy because they’ve learned to feed each other. This room represents heaven. Find someone to serve everyday. Expect nothing in return.

It’s easy to lose hope, blame others and feel victimized in our world. Yet, our power lies in establishing thoughts and habits of goodness and love. Imagine throwing your pebble of good thoughts and habits in the water. Yours connect to other like-minded good thoughts and habits. Soon you begin to notice and take part in a whole new world. And everyone will ask you, “How did you get so lucky?”

Become The Alchemist Of Your Life

by  Dr  Ana  Garcia  PhD

I am so angry today I could scream. I just don’t understand why I keep finding myself doing jobs that are simply boring or unchallenging. On top of this, the money is poor and my boss gets my back up. I don’t seem to be able to enjoy the tasks or the people at work and, for that matter, the people in my life!

Have I done anything wrong? Does the Universe get satisfaction from seeing me suffer? What have I done to deserve this? But enough of this nonsense!

Don’t they say, “We create our reality”? Well, in that case, there must be a purpose to all this! So, what is it and why does it escape me? Yes, I remember: I keep forgetting that our thoughts are energy and that we have the power to attract those realities that match my current frequency or level of self-belief. OK. In that case, let’s go to the “origin” of my reality and find out what it is that I am thinking?

Surely if I can connect my reality with my thoughts, the lesson will become clear and I can shift into my next lesson as soon as possible. I just want to see and feel some kind of movement forward in my life! I want to feel that my life has a purpose!

I am so tired and bored with my current lesson. I want a new one! I must obviously be ready for a new challenge as I am talking in these terms… this is the beginning of self-empowerment, when we say, “enough is enough”. So let’s go back to my boring job and my struggling relationships.

I remember reading somewhere that or environments and relationships mirror us in some way. So if I am looking at the mirror and see myself and decide I don’t like what I see, there are lots of things I can do to change that: I can change my make-up, my hair, my clothes. I can even modify my body posture, shift my attitude and look in my eyes to find some “sparkle”, my seed of light. I can leave that room feeling like a film start, if I choose to!

OK. So shifting the way I see myself doesn’t seem so difficult. All it takes is for me to stop to give myself some attention, and then make some choices to change what I don’t like. But what about the world around me? I can’t possibly change my boss’ personality or the place I work…

But what I can still do is dreaming, for dreams are free! So let’s see: if what I am experiencing is not what I want, what is it that I do want? I want to be happy, have fun, make money, see the world, spend time with my family and friends, go to the beach, learn interesting things… but surely this is too much to ask. This sounds impossible!

There, I caught you again! First thing: if you think that something is impossible, you are right. It becomes impossible! So let’s break it down: what is impossible? To attain your dream? To think a dream? To deserve that kind of happiness and abundance? To make it happen? What about going to the Moon? Doesn’t it also seem a dream come true? And do you think it happened overnight? Don’t you think many preparations needed to be done in advance?

Why do you feel that one little step at a time is not good enough? Why do you give up the whole dream just because it takes focus, persistence, faith, courage, and passion? Who says things were going to be dropped on your lap? Who says it doesn’t take effort to achieve your dream? Who do you think you are not to be an example to the people around you of what it is to live a life worthwhile, full of courage, bravery, and love? Who are you to stay small? Who told you that you can fall and stay there, and then moan that life doesn’t get any better?

Do yourself a favor: pick yourself from where you left it, give yourself a good shake, stand up proud, look far into the future and find that vision that will make anything worth fighting for. Every seemingly negative aspect of your life is the door to some talent, skill, dream, vision, strength, power or light hidden behind the illusion of reality. By identifying with that reality, you lose the perspective to realize that you are incredibly powerful, that you can manifest any dream.

Experience the feelings but don’t get attached to the illusion. Look behind the doors of negativity to find the light on the other side. Assimilate the experience and integrate the lesson. Accept your present time as a gift and be grateful for the opportunity given to you to shift yourself to a new level of self-belief…and become the alchemist of your life.
